Hey, remember when that 340-ton boulder was dragged through Los Angeles as part of a hugely publicized trip to LACMA? Well, so do a lot of people who were impacted by that loud and cumbersome journey, and so as a token of their gratitude, the museum is offering free admission to residents whose homes happened to be in the path of Levitated Mass.
On its way from Riverside County to LACMA, the rock made its way through parts of Los Angeles' Fourth District, including Rowland Heights, Lakewood, and Long Beach. In a statement, District Supervisor Don Knabe said of the free admission, “This is our small way of saying thank you to our residents for their patience."
LACMA's offer is good for the week of June 24 - July 1. Museum attendees looking to take advantage of it will need to provide proof of residency for one of the following zip codes:
