A 16-year-old boy was shot walking home from school with his friend this afternoon. The shooting happened around 3 p.m. The suspect came from behind, walked in front of the pair and then turned around and shot the boy.

Antelope Valley High School was shut down while sheriff's deputies looked for a fake gun that a student flashed in class. The deputies found the sophomore boy at home and questioned him about the incident.
