A woman in San Diego County became every librarian's worst nightmare: she checked out thousands of books that she re-sold on Amazon. Maria Nater, 45, of Vista plead guilty to felony burglary after checking out more than 2,000 books and DVDs from libraries in Carlsbad, Oceanside and San Diego.

Simi Valley recently passed a law requiring porn performers to wear condoms, which was widely perceived as a way to keep out condomless productions fleeing from Los Angeles. But tucked into that law was a provision requiring adult videos producers to submit unedited copies of their films to the local police department for review.
