A recent poll suggests that America just isn't that into Los Angeles. The poll taken by Public Policy Polling surveyed 900 American voters from April 12 to 15 and asked them whether they had a favorable or unfavorable opinion of 21 cities.

A junior high teacher who was fired this week after administrators found out she appeared in porn says she's not going to take it lying down. Science teacher Stacie Halas was fired after administrators figured out that the rumors that she had performed in a porn were true (once they figured out a way around the district's pesky web filter).

A dude whipped out a gun and tried to steal a plane at the Woodley Airport in Compton last night. It didn't work out too well for him. Troy Daniel Long, a 25-year-old former flight student, went into the airport office around 8 am yesterday and took the keys to the airplane.

A 10-year-old girl reported missing turned up safe and sound at a friend's slumber party early this morning. Yaiza Cuevas, who lives in Echo Park was reported missing when her mother went to pick her up from her babysitter's home last night.

There are tight-knit groups throughout Los Angeles county that have their own nicknames, hand signs and code of behavior. Investigators recently found evidence that one of these groups glorifies members who are involved in shootings. We're not talking about Bloods, Crips or the Mara Salvatrucha.
