She was an English and social science teacher at Burbank's David Starr Jordan Middle School, and now she could serve up to two years in state prison for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a male student who was 14 at the time, reports the Burbank Leader. Amy Beck turned herself in on March 8th, and voluntarily remained in custody as her community reacted in shock to the news that this teacher, wife of an LA police officer, and mother of three was facing " four counts of unlawful sex with a minor and one count of oral copulation with a minor."

33-year-old Beck pleaded no contest this morning, which "is not an admission of guilt, but it is treated as such for sentencing purposes." Her relationship with the minor allegedly took place for six months last year, ending in September. Upon release, Beck will also have to register as a sex offender.

Although Beck turned in a letter of resignation on March 5th, and has since been replaced with a sub, her name still appears on the Staff Directory page for Jordan MS set up by the Burbank Unified School District.
