Weekend Eats: Bourbon Dinner By The Beach, Kombucha Tasting, And An Ice Cream Social
The weekend is so close you can practically taste it. Here are the edible events going on in the next few days to keep you occupied -- and sated, for that matter.
Bourbon Dinner at Tin Roof Bistro
We dare you to find a better way to spend your Sunday evening than sipping on bourbon and chowing down on a whole roasted pig. You can do just that at Tin Roof Bistro in Manhattan Beach this weekend, where they'll be toasting the arrival of Buffalo Trace's Barrel #38 with a dinner from 4-7 p.m. There'll be corn chowder shooters with mini bacon biscuits, fresh watermelon and heirloom tomato salad, roasted pig with all the fixins, and vanilla wafer cream pie for dessert. Each course comes paired with a bourbon cocktail, so come thirsty. The dinner costs $54 per person, not inclusive of tax and gratuity. You can make your reservations by emailing here.
Kombucha Tasting at The Market on Holly
Earlier this year, the adorable Market on Holly launched their Producer Series, where local purveyors come in to showcase their wares and mingle with customers. This Saturday from 12 -2 p.m. they'll be hosting a meet-and-greet/tasting with Health Ade, a local komucha brewer who uses SoCal's bountiful produce to sweeten their bubbly teas. Their seasonal offerings currently include flavors like pink lady apple and plum, but their original and ginger lemon flavors are equally as delightful. For more information visit their site.
East L.A. Meets Napa Festival
If you're looking for some multicultural date night plans, tonight's your night at the Union Station. Thirty restaurants and 30 wineries will gather for the eighth annual East L.A. Meets Napa & Beyond at Union Station, marrying Mexican food, California wines and tequila. The event will benefit AltaMed, a health care and social organization that provides such services as youth programs, substance abuse prevention and treatment. It goes from 6 to 9 p.m., and tickets are $150 per person.
National Ice Cream Day at BLD
This Sunday, BLD is adding on a special dineLA supplement in honor of National Ice Cream Day. They'll be previewing flavors from the soon-to-open icdc, a collabo between Amy Knoll Fraser and Pastry Chef, Mariah Swan, including Strawberry Black Pepper Cream Cheese, Buttermilk Chocolate Marble, and Cinnamon Marshmallow. If they're half as good as her freshly-fried doughnuts, you're in for a real treat. For more information, visit their site.
