Tonight In Rock: Jon Brion, Hauschka, Yacht, Foreign Born

Washed Out will be performing tonight at the Echoplex | Picture via Washed Out's Myspace
Our Pick: Yacht, Bobby Birdman, Small Black, Washed Out, Pictureplane @ Echoplex
Tonight, as always, local multi-instrumentalist/producer extraordinaire Jon Brion (LAist Interview, #2, Review) will be jamming with friends at the Largo at the Coronet. Hauschka, or rather Düsseldorf-based pianist and composer Volker Bertelmann, is poised to grace the Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever with none other than LA-bred pianist and composer Dustin O'Halloran. And, lastly, local indie rock outfit Foreign Born (LAist Interview, Review) will be headlining the Echo. But we strongly suggest heading downstairs, or even vacillating between the two, to the Echoplex to catch Portland's own experimental electronic duo YACHT (LAist Interview, Review). Local electro pop mastermind Bobby Birdman, Denver-bred experimental electronic musician Pictureplane and Georgia-by-way-of-South Carolina dream-pop maestro Washed Out and Small Black are slated to kick things off.
You can find these listings as well as the rest of the week's in our weekly Week In Rock post, which (generally) goes up every Sunday.

At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.

LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
