This year’s theme is Máscaras de México - Vida y Muerte en La Máscara (“Masks of Mexico: Life and Death in the Mask"). Daytime performances by DannyLux and Irene Diaz with DJs from Altura art gallery studio space in Lincoln Heights (DJ Fuego, DJ Fondo, DJ Discos Rolas & DJ Cozmic Vibes). The nighttime performers include Bomba Estereo, Bratty, Camila Fernandez and Banda Las Angelinas, beats by Nochenegra from Mexico City featuring DJ Mar and DJ El Keamo. The Grapevine Arbor Park will be transformed into a spooky "Haunted Zone" with a maze designed for thrill seekers ages 12 and older. In addition, there will be food trucks and a free photo booth available for all to enjoy.

Jenny Wong, the newly appointed San Francisco Symphony Chorus Director and the Associate Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, conducts in her LA Opera debut. The audience is invited to come in costume.

Run the 110 Freeway 10k

Run or walk the Arroyo Seco Parkway, better known as the 110 Freeway—and best known as the freeway with the really short on-ramps. But for this 10k, you don't have to worry about dodging cars as the road will be closed to everyone except you and a couple thousand of your closest running pals. Runners are encouraged to begin lining up no later than 6:45 a.m. at Orange Grove St. The race will start on time at 7 a.m. Participants will then hit the on-ramp and head north toward Pasadena and turn around after passing the Fair Oaks overpass bridge, ending near the Avenue 26 exit. This event is part of ArroyoFest, which is free to attend.

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of ArroyoFest, which was first hosted on June 15, 2003, seven years before the first cicLAvia. The event provides the public the opportunity to experience the national historic byway—the 110 Freeway, which first opened in 1940—up close. The freeway will be closed off to traffic from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and open for walking, biking and skating. Off the freeway, Mission St. will be closed to cars through 2 p.m. The event is easily accessible via Metro.
