A San Diego woman has been hospitalized for injuries sustained when a slip in the shower sent her plunging out her apartment window to the bottom of a light shaft.

Police are investigating a suspicious package found in a parking structure elevator at Los Angeles International Airport. To accommodate their efforts, authorities are restricting traffic on the the lower level access road at the airport, causing major traffic problems. Those headed in or out of the airport can expect delays.

A deadly accident on the 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock Sunday evening has claimed four lives. Three occupants of a car that likely experienced a tire blowout before careening off the side of the hilly freeway onto Figueroa Street died on scene, while a fourth occupant died this morning at the hospital.

This brutal heatwave is likely to blame for the death of a San Bernardino woman who was found midday Wednesday unconscious next to her wheelchair. The woman was found lying in the street, and she never regained consciousness.
