According to a statement from the district attorney's office, 40-year-old Joshua Woodward is accused of giving his then-partner misoprostol, a drug that's used to induce abortion.

This morning, following several rounds of competition and elimination, the 95th Rose Queen will be announced for the 2013 Tournament of Roses Royal Court. The winner will be selected out of eight finalists -- known as the Rose Court -- who were announced on October 8. Those eight were chosen from an original pool of 900 applicants, who began their interview process back in September.

A suicidal Lake View man barricaded himself in his home last night and was ultimately extricated by a SWAT team, reports City News Service. The man, whose name hasn't been released, was wielding a knife when the team entered the residence.

A couple and their dog were found dead in an apartment in Koreatown today in what police believe was a murder/suicide, reports ABC 7. The man and woman, estimated to be in their late 30s or early 40s, were discovered at about 12:20 p.m. in their bed with a toy Pomeranian. All three had been shot to death.

Alana Thompson, a.k.a. Honey Boo Boo, is in town this week and staying at the Roosevelt, reports TMZ. In a video posted on the gossip site, the seven-year-old reality star is shown climbing in and out of the hotel's pool and posing for pictures with fans, while her mom June Shannon speaks to the fact that they love Hollywood and are very happy to be there.

A cyclist in his 60s was killed this morning in North Hollywood after being struck by a car, reports City News Service. The crash happened at about 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Oxnard Street and Radford Avenue.

The hours of L.A.'s 73 libraries were reduced in 2010 in response to city-wide budget cuts. As of Monday, though, the hours are being restored. In a statement, the Los Angeles Public Library announced that they'll be staying open late on Monday and Wednesday evenings, and opening early on Friday mornings.

In what will no doubt be taken as an affront to all that is obscenely overpriced and injected with silicone, the 99 Cent Only store is looking into opening up shop on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. The Huffington Post reports that the announcement was made on Tuesday, and that company president Jeff Gold believes that sales of seriously cheap items could be huge on the famous Beverly Hills street.
