An Amber Alert was issued for four missing children who were kidnapped by their biological parents. Two boys, ages 7 and 5, and twin 1-year-old girls were in the care of their grandmother in Boyle Heights when they were abducted by their parents, who have a restraining order against them.

A man died after becoming ill while hiking at Runyon Canyon today. The man was reported ill at about 2:20 p.m. at the Hollywood park and died at the scene.

Governor Jerry Brown had to speak over a group of activists today who waved signs and yelled in opposition to his administration’s fracking policies. Brown was at the second day of the California Democratic Party’s annual convention in Los Angeles to make his case for re-election after announcing his candidacy last month when he was interrupted by protesters.
