- Long Beach is looking to kick it's $16.9 million budget deficit by booting the cars of repeat parking violators. Auditors say the "boot" program could bring the city at least $2.5 million a year.
- A year ago, it wasn't known what was going to happen to the apartment complex made famous by it's once tenant, Charles Bukowski. Now we can rest assured that it won't be torn down, renovations are happening!
- LA is following the lead of our arguably "greener" neighbors to the North (SF), and will ask residents to add another trash can to their arsenal. The new can will be for all "table scrap" material and will be tested in 5,000 households in Lincoln Heights, Harbor Gateway and South Los Angeles
- Next week, a final vote will be tallied on the possibility of LA to fine taggers for damage they cause instead of using taxpayer dollars. The average cost of catching a tagger is $665, and the cost to paint over their lovely tag is $552 per incident.
- The FAA is looking into reports of oxygen masks failing on last week's American Airlines flight that had to perform an emergency landing at LAX. The Honolulu bound flight reported oxygen masks that didn't deploy and some that didn't put out oxygen.

- A Cypress man is being held at the OC Jail today for stabbing his co-worker during an argument. Christian Cervantes, 28, was arrested for attempted murder on his 21-year-old co-worker adding to the statistic that "more than 1.63 million workers are assaulted and more than 900 are murdered each year, according to BLS numbers."
