The weekend is so close you can practically taste it. Here are the edible events going on in the next few days to keep you occupied -- and sated, for that matter.

Mad Hatter Tea Party: To celebrate International Women's Day, Cole's in Downtown L.A. will be hosting a boozy tea party with some of the city's top barwomen and industry professionals. The even goes from 1:00-7:00 p.m. today (Friday), and will be hosted by Hollis Bulliet of Bulliet bourbon and Kat Wit. Cari Hah, Zahra Bates, Brent Falco, Karen Grill and Jaymee Manderville will be behind the stick mixing drinks like old fashioned hot tea cocktails, jello cocktail shots, and Calvados cobblers. For more info on the location, visit their site.

Bottomless mimosas at Bar Pintxo: All weekend long, the Spanish tapas bar in Santa Monica will be serving bottomless flutes of OJ and cava. They go for $10 a glass, which is a steal considering our bubble pounding capabilities. Other brunch highlights include tortilla espanola (basically a Spanish fritatta made with eggs, potato and onion), and other nibbles meant to be shared. For more info, check out their site.

Cooking classes at Tratoria Neapolis: Looking to up your game when it comes to the Spring holiday fare? On Saturday, March 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., chef Wigger will demonstrate how to make each course of this wonderful early spring menu. Think things like wild arugula salad, house made cavatelli pasta, and grilled Cali lamb chops with mint salsa verde. The class also includes a glass of wine and house made gelato for dessert. The class, which takes place at the Pasadena restaurant, runs $75 per person plus tax and tip. For info, check their site.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
