Good Lord, They've Created A Mac-And-Cheese Beignet

We thought we'd seen it all—the waffle-donut mashup, the quesadilla with Flamin' Hot Fritos dip, the chocolate chip cookie shot glasses filled with milk... But now there's a new hybrid in town—the mac-and-cheese-filled beignets at Glazed Donut Bistro in West Hollywood.

And get this: the deep-fried goodies come with a cheese dipping sauce, too. Be still, my beating heart (that may be beating a little slower after eating this).

I'm partly grossed out at the thought of it, but also curious at the same time. After all, when LAist visited Glazed Donut Bistro back in February when it first opened, I was actually impressed with Chef Gena Lora's savory take on the doughy pastries—primarily her shrimp rolls and fried-chicken beignets. And we're not opposed to fried mac-and-cheese balls in general, so maybe we would give this a shot.
