No Whey! Cheese Week is Coming to Long Beach

Here's something that's not for the faint of heart -- or for the lactose intolerant. From January 21 - 27, Downtown Long Beach will be hosting a celebration dedicated to all things cheese. For their first ever Cheese Week, a group of restaurants will be preparing dishes and specials based on the stinky stuff. It’ll be served hot and cold, crumbled and melted, spread and sprinkled, and even on fire.
Highlights include cheese and wild ale pairings at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing, Chimay beer cheeses at Congregation Ale House, and flaming Saganaki -- a squeaky Greek cheese similar to halloumi served warm over at George’s Greek Cafe.
There are almost 20 restaurants participating in the event. You can find out more info on the cheesy goodness at their site.
