Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes Working On Divorce Settlement
Those hoping for a "nuclear" and very public divorce fight between Tom Cruise and Kate Holmesmay be disappointed: Various sources say that the pair are in talks for a divorce settlement. A source tells People, "Neither one of them wants this to be hashed out in public." But Holmes' trip to Whole Foods will remain paparazzi bait.
TMZ adds, "Sources tell us the lawyers are negotiating child custody, visitation, child support and a property settlement. We're also told the whole settlement could be ratified in New York if all goes well. In other words, there may not be a move by Tom's camp to transfer the case to California, where judges are more likely to award joint custody."
Late last month, Holmes filed for divorce from the international mega star, citing "irreconciliable differences" and asked for sole legal custody of their 6-year-old daughter Suri (Cruise has two children from his second marriage to Nicole Kidman). While rumors suggested that Holmes, raised a Catholic,wasn't that into Scientology and worried about the controversial religion's involvement in Suri's upbringing, Cruise's friend claim that Holmes loves Scientology. C'mon—who doesn't love a story involving Xenu?
