LAist could have seen the Jesus & Mary Chain in 1986 but they played on Good Friday at the Santa Monica Civic and we were all, "if you see a band called the Jesus & Mary Chain on Good Friday you're gonna go to Hell."

But we loved the band, and with each new album we loved them more and more.

Quasi-gothic take on Brian Wilson is how it always felt to us. Beautiful music to get stoned and drift away to in the back seat during a road trip.

Or the soundtrack for the spicy part of a date with a Suicide Girl.

At LAist we're not in the business of reprinting press releases, but this one was so good that we had to make an exception. It's an interview provided to us not by the band's label, because they are unsigned, but by an angel from above, who brought us news about one of the coolest bands ever and one of the best reasons to want to go to Coachella.

Fullon interview after the jump.
