Are moody black and white photos showing beautiful young women in sexy lingerie taking things too far for the Miss USA pageant? It seems several major news outlets think so, according to Gothamist, and Tim Winter of the Parents Television Council claims the set of 51 images shot by Fadil Berisha "obliterates" the "line between a beauty pageant and soft-core pornography."

Take a look at the "glam shot" of our local hopeful, Nicole Michele Johnson (above, right), whose "Quick Bio" tells us that she is 24 and from Westlake Village. (Well, that was quick, indeed.) Offended? Shocked and appalled?

Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner doesn't think you should be:

"It's really not pushing the envelope. Basically, a swimsuit is lingerie, just different material. So, I really don't know why everyone has their panties in a wad, because it's the same concept. You're seeing the same amount of skin, but all of the goods are covered, so there's really no issue."

2009's former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean also left people feeling offended, shocked, and appalled following last year's pageant, and she was ultimately stripped of her crown. Can't get enough of hot twenty-something gals in skimpy clothes? The 2010 Miss USA Pageant airs on NBC on Sunday night, live from Sin City.
