Authorities report a 77-year-old man and his 72-year-old wife are dead, "after shots were heard in the gated retirement community of Laguna Woods Village Monday afternoon," reports the OC Register. A caretaker reportedly heard an elderly couple arguing in the 50 block of Calle Aragon around 1:05 p.m. Shots were fired and the woman ran out of the house followed by more shots said a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

According to Mashable, "the oft-forgotten 'Poke' has been moved" to the top of the page and is located, "next to a more visible 'Message' button." Photo placement and ad sizes have also been tweaked. The most substantial change is the relocation of tabs like 'Wall' and 'Info' to the left of the page under the profile photo.

Conservationists are up in limbs about a plan by Los Angeles County officials to plow 179 oak trees and 70 sycamores in an 11-acre canyon near Arcadia. The grove is currently scheduled, "to become a spreading ground for 500,000 cubic yards of silt, rocks and vegetation scooped out of Santa Anita Reservoir," reports the LA Times.

Willie's weed charges have been knocked down to a misdemeanor following last week's Texas bus raid.
