  • This week iconic folk rock singer-songwriter Bob Dylan will be taking on a three-night stint at the Hollywood Palladium. Long Island-bred pop punk outfit Brand New are poised to make their long-awaited return to Los Angeles, performing twice at the Hollywood Palladium as well with Atlanta-based indie rock act Manchester Orchestra and Portland's own folk rockers the Builders and the Butchers (LAist Interview) in tow. Canadian electro pop duo the Junior Boys will be headlining the El Rey Theatre. And, lastly, Toronto-bred folk rock outfit Great Lake Swimmers (LAist Interview) will be gracing the El Rey Theatre with none other than former American Analog Set front man Andrew Kenny's latest endeavor the Wooden Birds.
  • Tonight legendary Poway-bred pop punk outfit Blink 182 will be headlining the Hollywood Palladium with none other than celebrated Orange County-based ska act the Aquabats. NY-based alternative rock outfit As Tall As Lions (LAist Interview, Review) are poised to take on Club Nokia, kicking things off for New Orleans' own Grammy Award-nominated rockers Mute Math (LAist Review, #2). And, lastly, local prolific songwriter John Wood, who performs under the pseudonym Learning Music, will be gracing Echo Curio. But we strongly suggest heading over to Largo at the Coronet to catch Québécois singer-songwriter Patrick Watson.
  • Tonight Fran Healy and Andy Dunlop of Scottish alternative rock outfit Travis will be kicking off a sold-out two-night stint at Largo at the Coronet. Montreal-based electro funk duo Chromeo are poised to DJ at Club 740 in anticipation of their latest contribution to the famed DJ Kicks series. And, lastly, Brooklyn-bred Americana act O'Death will be headlining Spaceland with none other than local rock and roll outfit Slang Chickens. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Roxy to catch LAist's favorite English electro pop outfit Metronomy (LAist Review). LA-based afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold are slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight legendary Austin-based art rock sextet ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead will be headlining the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than Cardiff-bred rockers Future of the Left in tow. Fresh on the heels of a three year hiatus, Boston-based hard rock outfit Cave In are poised to perform at the Knitting Factory for free with Kansas City's own metalcore masterminds Coalesce. And, lastly, New Mexican folk act A Hawk & A Hacksaw will be taking on Spaceland with Bakersfield-based Americana outfit the Grizzly Owls. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Minnesota-born genre-hopping, full-figured singer-songwriter Har Mar Superstar. LAist favorites, local hip hop duo Brother Reade (LAist Interview, Review) are slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight one half of acclaimed electro pop duo the Knife, Swedish experimental electro outfit Fever Ray will be performing at the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than Pasadena-bred electronic mastermind Nosaj Thing. Local noise/punk act Mika Miko (LAist Review) are poised to take on the El Rey Theatre, opening for no-wave progenitors Teenage Jesus and the Jerks. And, lastly, LA-bred electronic musician/producer/MC Thavius Beck will be ringing in his latest disc at the Airliner in Lincoln Heights. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch English indie pop singer-songwriter Jack Peñate. Acclaimed Swedish electro pop trio Miike Snow are slated to kick things off.
  • This week Seattle-based indie rock progenitors Sunny Day Real Estate will be making their triumphant return to the Henry Fonda Music Box with local indie rockers the Jealous Sound in tow. Legendary Austin-based art rock sextet ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead are poised to take on the Henry Fonda Music Box. One half of acclaimed electro pop duo the Knife, Swedish experimental electro outfit Fever Ray will also be performing at the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than Pasadena-bred electronic mastermind Nosaj Thing. And, lastly, LAist's favorite English electro-pop outfit Metronomy (LAist Review) will be headlining the Roxy with local afro-centric indie pop act Fool's Gold.
  • Tonight English singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock will be headlining Spaceland with none other than local indie pop outfit the Parson Red Heads (LAist Review, #2, #3) in tow. Philadelphia's own psych rockers Dr. Dog (LAist Review) are poised to grace the Henry Fonda Music Box. And, lastly, local ten-piece funk orchestra Breakestra will be taking on the El Rey Theatre. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echoplex to catch Portland-bred electro-infused indie pop outfit Starfucker (LAist Review, #2). LAist favorites, Portland-based electro pop trio Strength are slated to kick things off.
  • Tonight Radiohead front man Thom Yorke will be closing out a sold-out two-night stint at the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown with local experimental electronic act Lucky Dragons. Brooklyn-based shoegaze-infused electronic trio School of Seven Bells (LAist Review) are poised to take on the Troubadour with local indie rock outfit Warpaint (LAist Review, #2, #3) and NY's latest buzz band Phantogram. And, lastly, WPA, or rather Works Progress Administration—a Santa Barbara-bred supergroup formed from a prominent community of musicians who frequent the Largo, including Sean and Sara Watkins, as well as Glen Phillips—will be performing for their first time at the Largo at the Coronet. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch the opening night of local indie pop outfit Light FM's month-long residency. LAist favorites We Barbarians and Tigers Can Bite You are slated to kick things off. Yours truly will be DJing in between sets.
  • Tonight English indie rock singer-songwriter Jack Peñate will be headlining the Echo with none other than Swedish electro pop outfit Miike Snow. Early on in the day, New Zealand-bred electro pop singer-songwriter Ladyhawke is poised to grace Space 15 Twenty. And, lastly, Chicago's legendary spoken word soul performer Gil Scott Heron will be taking on the El Rey Theatre. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch celebrated indie rock singer-songwriter David Bazan, who spent most of his formative years performing under the moniker Pedro the Lion.
  • Tonight New Zealand-bred electro pop singer-songwriter Ladyhawke is poised to grace the Avalon with Seattle's own electro pop sensation Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. NY/LA-based folk troubadours Elvis Perkins in Dearland (LAist Interview) are poised to headline the Troubadour with North Dakota-based singer-songwriter Tom Brosseau and Echo Park-bred folk pop act Correatown in tow. And, lastly, local indie rockers You Me & Iowa will be gracing Spaceland with Radars to the Sky. But we strongly suggest heading over to Eagle Rock to catch forty some-odd—including No Age (LAist Review, #2), The Happy Hollows, Peanut Butter Wolf, Nico Stai, The French Semester, Amateurs, Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, Blank Blue, Pocahaunted, Bobb Bruno, The Gaslamp Killer, Julia Holter, Jail Weddings, Free Moral Agents, Fol Chen (Canceled!) and Leslie and the Badgers, among many, many others. Head on over to the Verdugo Bar in neighboring Glassell Park for one of many promising after-parties!
