  • Diners in some parts of SoCal seeking a reliably delicious pie courtesy of standby Marie Callender's may be forced to turn elsewhere -- the company is filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, reports the Daily Breeze. Blaming the economy, the owners of Marie Callender's, who also own Perkin's Family Restaurants, said that the company couldn't survive in the current financial climate.
  • In a morbidly reminiscent accident this morning, Tori Spelling crashed her car while being chased by photographers, according to KTLA. Spelling, 38, was driving her kids to school when a paparazzi began chasing her. After the accident, the pap apparently got out and still tried to get the picture.
  • In tonight's Extra, Extra, Russell Crowe crows about circumcision, Phonehenge takes another hit, Coliseum officials' homes are raided, and hay, hay everywhere. Plus: Keep up with us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter: @LAist @LAistFood @LAistSports.
  • A Sylmar man who allegedly ran over his father and brother with an SUV was charged today with murder, reports KCBS. Martin Martinez, 26, had reportedly been arguing with family members about a lost dog and a broken door on Tuesday evening. The fight had come to blows and spilled outside, at which point Martinez is accused of getting in the SUV and driving into both men.
  • In tonight's Extra, Extra, an after-school arts program takes the spotlight, firefighters practice with real blazes, MTV loses its softcore porn edge, and redistricting could throw us all for a loop. Plus: Keep up with us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter: @LAist @LAistFood @LAistSports.
  • Maybe your week has been extra-squeaky clean, or maybe your taste for bulging underwear was whetted courtesy of one now infamous Weiner. Either way, if you're looking to get a little dirtier this weekend, check out The Dirty Show at the City Center Motel downtown. The show, which originated in Detroit, features erotic art created by artists, musicians and professionally sexy folk.
  • Come on, admit it -- you want to be able to take a little piece of the Anthony Weiner scandal and claim it as your own. It's OK! We do too. And that's why we are thrilled to discover that sextee and former porn actress Ginger Lee once filmed with Chatsworth-based company Red Light District Video. According to Chatsworth Patch, Lee has starred in several videos for the company, including "Swallow My Pride 9."
  • As any of us who have tried on clothing in a dressing room can attest, if there's only one mirror instead of a three-way, vital ass-related insight can be lost. But not everyone is sitting back and passively accepting this as fact. To combat the problem, the American Rag store in Hollywood installed an Ass Cam that allows shoppers to catch a glimpse of their own scenery from behind, reports the blog mondette.
  • In tonight's Extra, Extra, LA leads the country in GDP, Pasadena turns 125, the "Gen X Bandit" may have been killed, and pilot production in LA is down. Plus: Keep up with us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter: @LAist @LAistFood @LAistSports.
  • After voting to authorize a strike, grocery store workers are getting closer and closer to actually going through with protesting their employers, including Ralph's, Von's and Alberton's, reports the Daily Breeze. The proposed strike came about in part because of foot-dragging on the part of the grocery stores; the workers contracts ran out in March and employees were put on a day-to-day contract.
  • As Frank McCourt makes his way through his gnarly divorce proceedings, the fate of the LA Dodgers hangs in the balance -- and so, reports the LA Times, does another LA athletic institution: the LA marathon. Little did you know that one individual could own a marathon, but they can, and McCourt does. The Times reports that McCourt "bought the marathon" three years ago, and has been working to dust it off and make it over ever since.
  • CAL/OSHA is trying to crack down on the porn industry when it comes to the exchange of bodily fluids (you know...typical workplace concerns) and porn performers voiced their anger over the proposed regulations at a meeting yesterday, reports the Daily News. Officials from CAL/OSHA tossed around ideas including requiring performers to wear goggles while performing oral sex, and using dental dams during cunnilingus. And while goggles may have their place, they aren't necessarily mainstream turn-ons.
