  • As if the myriad stage shows all over the city aren't enough to normally entice you, FYF Fest's comedy tent will be going strong all weekend with some of the best names in standup. PLUS, Mike Birbiglia's Sleepwalk With Me shows all week at the Nuart Theater, meaning you've got no excuse (indoor or out) to avoid some great comedy.
  • As if there weren't enough great shows happening this week, the Everything Is Festival is headed to Cinefamily for a week of great, oddball stuff. Keep reading for a couple of recommendations.
  • Another week of heat is upon us, so why not cool down inside with a nice comedy show or two (dozen)? Here are some of this week's best.
  • There's some competitive comedy happening around town this week, but don't worry, everyone still loves each other very much. So much so, in fact, that the Westside Comedy is hosting a love-fest of former Chicago performers. Should be a great time.
  • It's another week of fine standup, sketch and improv, from Venice to Brea and everywhere in between. Of particular note is the return of Melgard Mondays, with a fantastic lineup to match.
  • Don't let this little, frightened kitten scare you off: there's a lot of great comedy happening this week. Richard Lewis is around, as is Tracy Morgan. The Midnight Show is continuing their sketch show tour, and Garry Shandling is hanging out at Largo. Do it!
  • The indie shows are hopping this week, with great stand up and improv from downtown to Hollywood. If you can't find a show to enjoy in this line up, you're probably dead. BUT IF THAT'S TRUE THEN HOW ARE YOU READING THIS?!
  • As we continue to run through the weeks of another great summer, stop to smell the comedy roses once in awhile. This week, Humphrey Ker brings back his fantastic WWII-inspired show to the UCB stage, a new monthly stand up show premieres downtown and Long Way Down comes back from the brink.
  • As we roll into July, don't forget that this may well be the last summer we ever have, what with that whole pollution/Mayans/Lebron winning a title trifecta we've got going on. Get out, see shows, enjoy it while you can.
  • Paul Reiser is doing stand up in Brea, Mike MacDonald needs a new liver and Eddie Izzard wants some feedback tonight. Let's GOOOOOOO! If you've got a show coming up in a few weeks that you'd like to see listed here, email me and we can discuss.
