Man Accused Of Luring 17-Year-Old To Upscale OC Neighborhood, Stabbing Her To Death

A Yorba Linda man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old girl to death.Larry Soo Shin, 35, is accused of stabbing Aubreyanna Sade Parks multiple times, leaving her to die by the side of the road in an affluent neighborhood in Yorba Linda, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Shin allegedly called Parks and told her to come to Yorba Linda for an as-of-yet unknown reason, Deputy District Attorney Troy Pino told City News Service.

It's currently unclear as to what the relationship was between Shin and Parks, who is originally from Gardena. But City News Service is saying that Parks had been listed as a runaway and had been arrested before on suspicion of prostitution.

Parks' body was discovered by bicyclists early Thursday morning. Her body was determined to have multiple stab wounds to the upper body. Shin was arrested soon afterward.

He faces a special circumstance of lying in wait, which means that he may have lured her to Yorba Linda to kill her. The charge against Shin could carry a maximum penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole. He is currently in jail on a $1 million bond.

UPDATE 2/7: Details are becoming more clear about Aubreyanna Sade Parks, the victim in the stabbing. According to authorities, she was a former victim of human trafficking who was rescued in Santa Ana two weeks before she was killed. She was transferred to a shelter but walked out a few days later, the L.A. Times reports. She was reported missing by her family on Jan. 28.
