X Games City

For the third consecutive year, a successful X Games has concluded in Los Angeles. Once again, Angelenos were treated to large crowds and a good time.This particular LAist writer admits to being more of a traditional sports fan, than an X Games fan, but we're thrilled to see that Los Angeles has cemented itself as the X Games city of America. AEG, ESPN, and X Games have signed a deal to keep the Xtreme event here through 2009.
This could not have been done without the heavy investment that AEG has put into SoCal sports over the years. Between the STAPLES Center, Home Depot Center, and now with convention center additions and a media center in downtown to come, LA is becoming an ideal host for major sporting events. The X Games are just taking advantage of what we have to offer, and as the original home of Xtreme sports, Angelenos get to enjoy the action.
