Wind + LA winter = firestorm
Fires, fires everywhere.
The Seventh Street Produce Mart is in flames in downtown Los Angeles; 100 firefighters are at the scene, the AP reports.
Early this morning 4 Tujunga homes were damaged by fire, one seriously. Some residents were injured.
Brush fires in La Canada-Flintridge were started by a power line that blew over last night; although the fire is presently contained, firemen warn that with current wind conditions, they need to make sure every last ember is out.
We'll keep an eye on the LAFD blog for reports after, um, they've put all the fires out. Right now they've got some tips posted about how to be safe around downed power lines (hint: Don't touch).
