We'd Like to Thank the Academy....
LAist loves Thanksgiving.
Food. Football. Giving thanks. More food. Midday naps. Leftovers.
Also, Thanksiving is non-denominational. Everyone can enjoy it, from avowed Satanists, to Reformed Lutherans, to Godless Blue State Heathens like ourselves.
There is nothing not good about Thanksgiving. Simply put, it rules.
So in honor of Thanksgiving (and by way of tying this column into the city which gives us our raison d'etre), here is a list of the top ten bounties of LA. These are the things that make us grateful to live in this crazy, wonderful, frightening, dynamic, and truly great city.
So, without further ado, please give it up for El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Angeles de Porciúncula!
10. Dodger Stadium.
9.(Tie) Hollywood freaks/Hollywood Boulevard at night.
8. The La Brea Tar Pits.
7. Grauman's Chinese Theater.
6. Muholland Drive.
5. Santa Monica Bay.
4. The view from the Getty Center.
3. The Paramount water tower.
2. Being the most diverse city on Earth. Ever.
And last, but definitely not least:
1. Our Thanksgiving day forecast: 70 and sunny.
Happy Thanksgiving, LA!
