Video: Hero Drivers Rescue Dogs Sprinting Down Freeway
Two dogs are safe after drivers on the freeway risked their own safety to rescue them.
On Saturday a German shepherd and a boxer were spotted running on the 210 freeway near the 605 interchange in Azusa. Drivers tried in vain to corral the dogs with their cars by guiding them over to the shoulder, and in the video you can see one man running on the freeway in an effort to catch the boxer.
Drivers all slow down around the dogs, and eventually the exhausted boxer is caught by a woman who hops out of a car and wrangles it. "They were just on the freeway, don't know how they got there," Rochelle Vargas told NBC Los Angeles. "I just had to stop and save them."
Both dogs were taken to an animal shelter.
