Firefighters have airlifted an injured worker from a 270-foot-crane in downtown Los Angeles.
A call for the rescue was made around 1:30 p.m. Paramedics climbed the crane on the 800 block of South Hill Street and safely reached the injured man. Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said the man was in fair condition, but did not specify any further details about his injuries. LAist contributor Tim Loc was at the scene around 2:15 p.m. and captured a photo of an LAFD helicopter lowering a medic onto the crane.
