Tom Cruise Wants Your Brain

Before you
Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

We haven't gotten confirmation on this yet but it all looks legit and nutty enough: In October and November, Tom Cruise will be giving 4 lectures on "Scientology's Mental Health Solutions" at the Scientology Celebrity Centre, International right here in Hollywood. The events are open to all humans of all thetan levels and will be streamed online and available for broadcast (although we don't quite know where. The wonder that is the scientology celebrity centre website hasn't been updated since July). We're especially curious about the Hubbard Mark Super VII Quantum Electropsychometer that will be featured at the third lecture. That's the coolest name for a fake machine we've heard in ages.

Do you think this current version looks anything like the alien devices in War of the Worlds?

Update: It's a hoax. A good one but still a hoax. Tom's legal eagles were not amused by our phone call. Thankfully, though, your Scientology dreams don't have to be dashed so easily. LA.Comfidential points out that the Santa Monica Scientology Centre is looking for new worker bees.
