Police Are Looking For Teen Suspected Of Fatally Stabbing His Ex-Girlfriend
A 16-year-old girl was stabbed to death in her Pico Rivera home this morning, and police suspect her ex-boyfriend was her attacker.
The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m. this morning in the 9800 block of Shade Lane in Pico Rivera, according to a release from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. The girl's mother was asleep in her second-floor bedroom when she heard her daughter scream from downstairs. The teenage girl then ran into her mother's room, where her mother realized she had been stabbed and called police. The girl died before she could be transported to a hospital, but did say things to her mother that have led police to believe her assailant was her ex-boyfriend. Police are not sure if the attacker broke in, or if the girl let him inside the house.
The L.A. County coroner has released the victim's name as 16-year-old Elena Moore, according to the L.A. Times.
Moore and the ex-boyfriend, whose identity has not been released, dated for about a year before breaking up two weeks ago. He is believed to be 17 years old, and police are trying to find him.
