A three-car crash in West Hollywood early this morning resulted in the death of a taxi driver, and is believed to have been caused by a drunk driver.

City News Service reports that the crash occurred at the intersection of La Brea and Fountain Avenues shortly before 2 a.m. this morning when the driver of a red Hyundai ran a red light and collided with a taxi, and also crashed into a vehicle that was operating as an Uber at the time. The driver of the taxi was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station, the driver of the Hyundai was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. WeHoVille reports that bystanders saw the Uber driver fleeing from the scene on foot, leaving their passengers behind at the scene of the crash, before they were brought back by a Sheriff's deputy.

ABC-7 writes that La Brea Avenue, between Fountain and Lexington, was closed until about 9 a.m. as the investigation was conducted.
