t-shirt porn: In case you haven't had enough of American Apparel's Dov Charney, he's the subject of a profile in today's NY Times. They go to his pepto-pink factory, they go to his Echo Park house. We're not sure what happens after that because we just couldn't go on any further. Anybody want to tell us how it ends?

eeeeeewww: The LA Times visits the gorehouse of Todd Masters, who makes heads split and blod spurt with foam and rubber, not computers. MastersFX has created horrific effects for Slither, Six Feet Under and everyone's favorite, Snakes on a Plane.

a chief remembered: The LA Times also tells the intriguing story of Ed Davis, who headed the LAPD from 1969-78, then became a surprisingly liberal Republican state senator. He died yesterday at age 89.
