Sheriff's Deputy Shoots Man With Knife
A Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man in Carson early this morning who was allegedly wielding a steak knife.
According to a sheriff's department press release, deputies were called to Marbella Avenue by someone concerned about a mentally ill man with a knife. When deputies got there, around 1 a.m., the man allegedly confronted them with the knife. A deputy shot the man, who was pronounced dead at a hospital.
No deputies were hurt and they recovered the steak knife at the scene of the shooting. Sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
