A man has been arrested in connection to multiple sexual assaults in West L.A., Santa Monica and Beverly Hills. The man's identity has not been released at this time, but he is currently being held by the Santa Monica Police Department, KTLA reports. Police say they suspect him in four different assaults, two of which were particularly violent.

The first assault took place on Jan. 13 in Santa Monica at about 6:15 p.m. A woman was hanging out on the beach when a man walked approached her, threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her before fleeing. In that particular incident, Santa Monica police spokesperson Saul Rodriguez said the man hit the victim with a brick, NBC Los Angeles reports. The second assault happened just two days later, also in Santa Monica.

On April 15, there was another assault in Beverly Hills.

Oddly enough, the man is believed to have committed one of two sexual assaults in West L.A., though investigators had previously believed both were committed by the same man. This suspect is accused of a July 2 attack in which a man dragged a woman from the sidewalk to a nearby dark pathway and assaulted her. A second attack committed on July 4 is now believed to have been perpetrated by someone else, who is still at large.
