Some Jerks Kidnapped A Baby Sea Lion From Dockweiler Beach
Authorities are on the search for a kidnapped sea lion pup and the four suspects who are said to have put it in the trunk of their car.A witness said four young adults, two men and two women in their early 20s, were at Dockweiler Beach around 3 a.m. harassing a mother sea lion and her two pups by throwing trash and cinder blocks at the animals. None of the animals were hit, but one of the suspects used a blanket to wrap one of the pups and put it in the trunk of their car before they drove off, said ABC 7.
Authorities arrived to the scene around 3:15 a.m. and found the other pup hiding behind a bush. The animal was taken in my animal control.
The car was described as a black two-door Honda Civic with the last two digits of the plate containing the numbers 5 and 6.
Things have been rough for baby sea lions lately, who have been starving to death in droves.
