Obama Dominates Romney In Porn Industry Poll

The porn industry is hot for Obama, according to a recent poll.XBIZ.com, a porn industry social network, polled 339 of its members and asked them who they would like to see elected as U.S. president in November.

In this totally unscientific survey (that we're sure Nate Silver is poring over as we speak), about 68 percent of respondents said they want President Obama, while 13 percent favor Mitt Romney. 14 percent said they'd like to see someone else, while another 5 percent said they didn't really care.

We're not too shocked that an industry heavily-based in Los Angeles that represents the polar opposite of "family values"-friendly would tilt Dem.

Sure, there are exceptions: Jenna Jameson has come out as an outspoken supporter of Romney, explaining that it had nothing to do with his stance on social issues: "I'm very looking forward to a Republican being back in office...When you're rich, you want a Republican in office."

But Vivid Entertainment CEO Steven Hirsch said in XBIZ.com's statement that for most industry insiders, their liberal take on social issues tends to override any other political concerns they might have: "The results aren't really surprising because most people involved with the adult industry have a liberal view of government and how it should work. Social issues are more important than fiscal issues and they will support a candidate who shares their beliefs."

The Democratic tilt of the industry isn't just about personal political preference: it's about business, too. During the GOP convention, the conservative group Morality in the Media successfully lobbied for the party's platform to insist that "laws on all forms of pornography and obscenity need to be vigorously enforced." So far courts haven't come down hard on cable and satellite providers that have PPV porn channels, but there's certainly a wing of the party that would like to see that changed.

Some of those industry insiders who aren't for either of the two major candidates would prefer to see a libertarian in office. Evil Angel founder John Stagliano told XBIZ.com: "The only candidate who protects our right to do business is the Libertarian Party candidate, Gary Johnson. He was the only person dealing with the real problems we have, like war, the debt, censorship and inefficient government."

If Gallup or Rasmussen Reports aren't your thing and you're interested in more unscientific polling, consider then the vaunted 7/11 coffee cup poll that is swinging heavily for Obama.
