A suicide off a 101 Freeway overpass in Downtown Los Angeles early Friday morning led to a SigAlert and lane closures for several hours in the ensuing investigation, however few details about the victim and incident are known.

The unidentified female jumper took her fatal leap at around 12:30 Friday morning in the area of Broadway and the 101, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada, reports City News Service.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, confirms the Los Angeles Police Department. Information about the deceased's identity has not been released, though the coroner's office has said she was 24 years old.

The CHP issued a SigAlert and all northbound lanes of the 101 were shut down, as well as the northbound freeway's Broadway onramp. All lanes and the onramp were fully re-opened just before 4 a.m.
