Teen Allegedly Brings Gun Onto Local High School Campus
Canoga Park High School was on lockdown Thursday morning as the Los Angeles Police Department were on scene to conduct a search for a person who may have brought a gun onto the campus.
The suspect was described as a male about 16 to 18 years old, and is possibly a student, reports City News Service.
Monica Carazo of the Los Angeles Unified School District said school police saw the young man with a gun near the campus and tried to question him, but he fled onto the school grounds.
LAPD Officer Christopher No confirms a gun was recovered at the school. No further information about the teen suspect has been made available.
As the tongue-in-cheek "tourism video" for the L.A. 'hood points out, at Canoga Park High School "even the mascot has a gun." Perhaps a negative example for the student body?
