Off-Duty LAPD Cop Killed In Simi Valley Collision
A Los Angeles Police Department officer was killed in an early morning crash just after 2 a.m. today in Simi Valley. The officer, whose identity was not released, was off-duty and a passenger at the time.
One of the vehicles in the two-car crash was an Uber. According to KTLA, "Both cars involved in the crash"—at Cochran Street and Sycamore Drive—"were carrying a driver and a passenger. The off-duty officer's vehicle was traveling southbound on Sycamore, the Uber was going eastbound on Cochran."
Police believe that one of the cars may have run a red light.

ABC 7 reports, "Both drivers were being tested to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident, Simi Valley police said."
