A gun once owned by ex-cop Christopher Dorner is being auctioned off by a Las Vegas pawn shop, and the store owner says he wants the money from the sale to help the alleged killer's survivors.
The .38 Special revolver was brought into Bargain Pawn Shop in North Las Vegas in January, and sold for $50. Shop owner George Bramlett surmises the former Los Angeles Police Department officer who once had a home in Vegas "just needed money," according to KLAS-TV.
"We were visited by local police and turned over the video surveillance we had," notes the item auction listing. They also include photos of the paperwork from the sale, as well as a still of Dorner in the store.
Bramlett says he recalls Dorner being "real nice and professional."
The next month, Dorner went on a violent rampage, targeting law enforcement. He is accused of killing two people in Irvine as well as a Riverside police officer and a San Bernardino County sheriff's detective. Ultimately he was cornered in a cabin in Big Bear, where he took his own life while authorities swarmed around him and the building burned to the ground.
In a Tweet promoting the sale, the pawn shop didn't mince words when describing the revolver's prior owner:

Bramlett says he wants the money from the sale of the gun, and is seeking to hand it over to any funds established to help the families of the victims.
Currently the bids are closing in on the $500 level.
