Police Nab Murder Suspect After Locking Down Echo Park

After locking down the area around Sunset Boulevard and Alvarado Street, police have arrested a murder suspect in Echo Park.

Police spotted a car this morning that they thought might be connected to a murder and began to follow it. The car took off, kicking off a short chase. The suspect bailed in Echo Park and ran into an apartment complex, according to NBC Los Angeles. At noon, LAPD said they had the suspect in custody.

While police searched for him, they locked down the area between Sunset Boulevard and Montrose Street, from Alvarado Street to Glendale Boulevard, police told LAist.

Police did not offer any additional information about the alleged murder, such as when it happened or if it took place in Echo Park. The suspect was only described as a Hispanic male. LAPD tweeted an image of what looks to be the suspect's car after the pursuit:
