The Los Angeles Police Department have announced the arrest of a man wanted for a crime spree that included attempted kidnappings for sexual assault.Jason Kies, 37, is suspected of attempting to kidnap two women in North Hollywood on March 22. At about 8 a.m., Kies tried to force a woman into his car after she exited her vehicle on Ben Avenue between Hesby Street and Addison Street, according to the LAPD.

At around Noon that day, Kies attempted to steal property at a Marshall’s Department Store located on Ventura Boulevard near Vineland Avenue where he fought with a security guard and fled without taking any property.

After that encounter, Kies allegedly followed a female jogger at about 1 p.m. in the area of Tujunga Avenue and Sarah Street. He assaulted this victim and attempted to force her into his vehicle, according to the LAPD.

Authorities identified Kies, of La Crescenta, as their suspect. While under subsequent surveillance, Kies was seen shadowing a female jogger in La Crescenta. Kies was taken into custody at that time with no incident.
