'American Pie' Actor's One Night Stand Companion No Stranger to Local Cops

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

"American Pie" actor Eddie Kaye Thomas had a one night stand this week that went very awry when the woman refused to leave the following morning and barricaded herself inside his Hollywood Hills home. The woman, however, turns out to be no stranger to local law enforcement.32-year-old Roxanna Bear had to be removed from Thomas' home Wednesday with the use of tear gas and flash bang grenades deployed by Los Angeles Police Department SWAT officers. She was charged Friday with one felony count of vandalism with over $400 damage and one misdemeanor count each of exhibiting a deadly weapon, interference with a wireless communication device, false report of a criminal offense and resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer, according to City News Service.

Bear pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The woman allegedly armed herself with a knife, and initial held Thomas, 32, hostage. Thomas escaped, but Bear remained inside, destroying property and engaging officers in a standoff that lasted over six hours (and scared the crap out of neighbor Minnie Driver).

TMZ reports that Bear—who Thomas reportedly picked up at Mel's Diner—has a rap sheet already: She "was arrested twice in February ... once for public intoxication and once for trespassing," says the gossip site.

One incident took place at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, where Bear was not a registered guest, and refused to leave. Her other arrest was when she was found stumbling and intoxicated on Wilshire Boulevard. In both incidents authorities say Bear was combative.

On Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Upinder S. Kalra ordered Bear to stay
away from Thomas and his home.

She remains jailed on $20,000 bail while awaiting a hearing May 3 to determine if there is enough evidence to require her to stand trial.

Thomas has only Tweeted once since the incident, and he kept it short and sweet (unlike, alas, his encounter with Bear):
