2 Unrelated Shootings On the Streets of Panorama City Leave 2 Dead, Suspects At Large

Two shootings in Panorama City this weekend appear to be unrelated, however they marked in quick succession the first and second homicides in the neighborhood this year, and both took place on city streets.The first incident took place late Saturday night, when a 35-year-old man walking on Parthenia Street was struck by gunfire, according to City News Service. That man, whose identity has not been released, died en route the hospital.
Neighbors reported hearing the gunfire, however investigators have not determine if the shots were fired from a suspect on foot or in a vehicle.
It was the first homicide in Panorama City in 2013. The suspect or suspects in the shooting remain at large.
In what police say is an unrelated incident, a fatal shooting took place Sunday afternoon on Roscoe Boulevard, stemming from an argument, according to KTLA.
A man sitting in his red Lexus became involved in a spat, and an unknown suspect opened fire, shooting several times through the driver's side window. The victim, a man in his 20s, died at the hospital. The shooting took place outside a marijuana dispensary, notes L.A. Weekly, however police have not revealed if the dispensary was connected in any way to the crime, and the suspect or suspects remain on the loose. This fatality marked Panorama City's second homicide of 2013.
