LAist loves to point out great upcoming tv shows and shows that may not be so great, but worth a look anyway. We are just putting this out there, you call it.

Tonight on NBC watch "The Daily Show’s" Steve Carell (who we love) and the rest of the gang on the American version of the BBC’s fantastically funny The Office. Is the new interpretation as good as the BBC version? Not as good, necessarily. Different.

Some may have been put off by the original because they have a hard time watching destructive personalities destroying themselves. So, they may like the Americanized show better as it now plays more like odd people doing odd things.

Two of the producers of the original, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchants, are on board for this version so that's a good thing. The new show is funny, but in a different way than the original. Is that bad? We don’t think so. Sometimes different is good. Check it out.
