NYC Fire Captain Arrested For Sex Crimes Against Minors In Los Angeles

An EMS captain in the New York City Fire Department was arrested at a firehouse in New York City on Friday in connection charges of sex crimes against minors in Los Angeles.Captain Wilbert Riera, 51, was arrested by an FBI task force at Staten Island's Rossville station after a felony warrant was issued on September 19 for his arrest. Riera is charged with six counts of oral sex with two children, alleged to have occurred on September 12. "It happened here in Los Angeles, in Hollywood to be exact," LAPD Officer Nuria Vanegas told the New York Daily News.

Riera has been thrice honored by FDNY for "pre-hospital saves," according to SILive.com.

He is currently in custody of the New York Police Department, awaiting extradition to California.
