A nurse at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center is in critical condition after she was attacked today by a knife-wielding assailant.

Police say Romero Carnalla, 26, ran past security, and while police searched the hospital for him, he stabbed the nurse numerous times.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was treated and remains in the hospital. Police recovered a knife on the scene, according to City News Service.
