L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. just announced that Mischa Barton was pulled over at 2:46AM this morning while driving in the 900 block of north La Cienega Boulevard in West Hollywood. According to the police report, her vehicle was seen "straddling two lanes of traffic and failed to signal when making a turn."

And what's "straddling two lanes of traffic" code for? Driving drunk. Once it was determined that she was "under the influence of an alcoholic beverage", Barton was arrested and transported to West Hollywod's sheriff's station where she was booked without incident.

In addition to DUI charges, Barton was driving with a suspended license. TMZ is reporting that Barton also faces possession of narcotics charges, but no mention of narcotics is made in the LA County booking documents.

Barton was released this morning on $10,000 bail.

This isn't the first sign of trouble for Barton who was hospitalized in May after mixing antibiotics and alcohol. Her nineteen-year old younger sister, Hania, went into rehab earlier this year for addiction to painkillers. Barton is scheduled to be in Vegas this weekend to launch the opening of new trendy restaurant, CatHouse.

Only time will tell if these charges are just the first in a long string of offenses that range from "accidentally" crashing into paparazzi while drunk to all-out drug binges followed up by slightly tamer drug binges whilst in rehab. And no word yet on how these charges will affect her annoying Keds campaign contract. We're crossing our fingers.
