Road trip! LAist, at least this one, can't be more stoked for winter to come. Getting out of Dodge, fresh powder, hitting the mountain up early, apres-ski, cute snowboarders -- Los Angeles, you might not know this, but the buzz around the rest of the country now that fall is in full effect is winter. And winter means skiing, snowboarding, hot toddies and all things white for those of you who dig this sort of thing.

Mammoth Mountain is a great weekend trip with friends who partake and those who don't. For years, we've been going here and there, but this year, no mas! This year, we're buying a season pass and going to go as much as possible. The Silver Pass, the best deal, has an awesome special that is ENDING TODAY! But a silver pass, and get two free lift tickets (value $150) for free. You can use these yourself during a blackout period or give them to friends. How valuable is a pass? Well you have to go 8 times to break even. Not bad. And you have the luxury of not having to go to ticket window and plus you look bad ass with a season pass, it's just fact.

Worried about how the season is going to be? Farmer's Almanac says we're in for a snow-filled winter with a few different major storms rolling through. Colorado has gotten dumped on already, it's on its way in Utah and the Northeast. California, we're next! So what are you waiting for? Deal ends tonight at midnight.
