LAPD Responding to Reports of Man With Gun Near Occidental College [UPDATED]

[UPDATE]: Two men with alleged ties to the HLP gang were arrested near Occidental College this afternoon after police searched for a man who appeared to be carrying a weapon. Police were still searching for the weapon, LAPD Cmdr. told L.A. Now.

Eagle Rock residents and people on the Occidental College campus are advised to stay inside while an LAPD helicopter circles above in search of a reported man with a gun.

The LAPD established a perimeter surrounding an area of Eagle Rock around noon, according to ABC7.

We confirmed with the LAPD's Northeast Division that a search is ongoing and that a perimeter has been established along Avenue 45, Avenue 47, Alumni Ave and Campus Road along the southwest edge of Occidental College.
